ENTRY GUIDELINES

March 6, 2005 ALERT: Weavers who might be considering entries to the April CHT Conference,
This just in; we have a lovely group of UT fashion students who would be delighted to model your creations during the CHT Fashion Show. In other words, send in your best and most original fashions and expect to answer all sorts of questions about construction without having to trip down the runway
yourself. Our Fashion show coordinator, Letitia Rogers, has graciously extended the Fashion Show deadline another week, to Friday, March 11.
Don't be shy, help us enchant and instruct another generation of fiber friends! We need your creations! Contact Letitia at letitia@sheepthrills.biz.

The Fashion Show and Members’ Exhibit are important parts of the CHT conference. All CHT members are invited and encouraged to enter. Every entrant will receive a written, confidential critique from the judge. Following are the entry requirements:

  • Entrants must be members of CHT, except in the Junior Category.
  • Each item must have been completed since the last CHT biennial conference, April, 2003.
  • Workshop samples, kits or pieces executed under supervision will not be accepted
  • Any kind of item that is totally the work of the member and uses interlaced or manipulated fibers will be accepted. If an entry is the product of two or more artists, the entry form must list all collaborators and their contributions.
  • Each entry form should have a 4-digit unique I.D. number. Assign this to yourself and remember it! Numbers will be used for anonymous identification of items during judging, and secure pick up after the conference.
  • Insurance is the responsibility of the entrant. Extreme care will be taken in storage, transportation, and handling of entries, but CHT cannot be held responsible for any damage or loss.
  • All Fashion Show items will be judged off and on models. We expect entrants to provide their own model.
  • Categories for the Fashion Show are Formal Wear; Casual Wear; and Accessories (scarves, handbags, jewelry)
  • Categories for the Members’ Exhibit are Functional (table linens, home accessories, fashion accessories); Wall Hangings and Rugs, Decorative (art pieces, decorative items); Handspun (skeins and finished work - skeins should be at least 1 oz); and Junior (any entry by an18 year old or under)
  • The number of awards in each category will be at the discretion of the Judge.
  • Entries to the Members’ Exhibit are limited to a size that can be easily handled by 1 or 2 people.
  • Entry forms are due by March 4th 2005 and items and garments should be received between then and April 1.
  • Items will not be released from the Exhibition until after the close of classes on Sunday. No items will be returned by mail.
